Below are details of Events and Exhibitions that are taking place to develop, support and publicise the Archive Project.
The Hayle Community Archive and Hayle Oral History Project have open mornings in the Old Brewery Office Tuesdays from 10am until 1pm. Please bring in any old photos, postcards, film, contacts of people to interview or come for a chat and to see the collection. After many months of frustrations and set backs the members of the Hayle Community Archive are pleased to announce that the Hayle Archive website is now up and running. You will find it at www.haylearchive.org.uk. That 'front page' gives details of what you will find in the database, updates and how to contact members of the Archive.
We now have a number of very interesting photo collections for you to view. Most of the collections were generously donated by residents of Hayle so if you have any photos of Hayle and the surrounding area we would be delighted to see them.
We have the huge collection created by Georgina Schofield to sort through and will be adding images and files from that collection in due course.
We hope these will give you an idea of what the database is capable of showing and we welcome you comments, suggestions and corrections to mistakes if you see any.
